Night Whisper | CONQUER |
2 Corinthians 10:14-16 |
For we are not overextending ourselves (as though our authority did not extend to you), for it was to you that we came with the gospel of Christ; not boasting of things beyond measure, that is, in other men’s labors, but having hope, that as your faith is increased, we shall be greatly enlarged by you in our sphere, to preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man’s sphere of accomplishment. NKJV
‘Kabal’ is an Arabic word for fortress and its modern day manifestations in the early 21st century have been so clearly seen in the occupying military camps of Afghanistan and Iraq, where the word Kabal has been substituted with the word Camp. Camp Bastion, that is Kabal Bastion, located in Helmand, Afghanistan, being but one of the larger and more well-known examples.
In very hostile environments, fortress Kabals are vital to provide ‘protected and guarded community’ for occupying forces, and in these areas of guarded protection there then comes rest, recuperation, resupply, further education, preparation, planning etc. The present Christian world is full of Kabals, but remember, Kabals are not churches, even though some may act like them or present themselves to be so.
Present Christian Kabals are enclosed in the high walls of relationship. In other words, you will not be allowed in unless you are the same as those who occupy the Kabal and are known to be the same and to be safe in your sameness. Occasionally, high ranking and well known personnel from other Kabals may be allowed in, but this is just for a time, for education and further high level connectivity. The problem with Kabals is they are incestuous, indeed, they can be no other way, and the danger with incest is that is that it introduces freakiness into the gene pool, as well as centralizing family power. I tell you, a Christian Kabal is a closed entity with some form of centralized family power base which is essentially sick at heart. The present Christian world is full of Kabals, all marked by the same old names and the same old faces. Remember, Kabals are closed worlds, they are separate and self-sustaining ecosystems. They keep everyone who is not like them…out.
If you have both the time and the inclination, starting young, you could go to the right places of education, sign up to the appropriate declarations and statements, be seen at the right conferences, coalitions, gatherings and tables, sit on the right committees, wear the same clothing, carry the same flag by producing some of the same material, and then, if you work very hard at this and are somewhat wise in your dealings, you might even become the accepted member of not a few Kabals and be enabled to enter the gates of more than one. Make no mistake about this though, the effort to do this is gargantuan, and the loss of personal uniqueness is substantial in the so doing. If you have neither the desire to exert such effort nor the will to lose yourself, then you have only one option my friend, and that is abandon the hope of entering any Kabals and instead, go to the regions beyond the fortresses.
Understand that there is a vast difference between a City and a Kabal and that difference is not marked by the absence of protection but rather by the absence of true openness, that is, of flow. Cities are Coral reefs of life and traffic, of trade and communication, of community and connectivity, of healthy reproduction and the transfer of treasure. Kabals are monochrome areas of massive self-protection. Do you see the difference?
A Kabal is also an expensive entity to run. A local church is not. A Kabal is a complicated entity to control and to protect, a local church is a place of service and self-sacrifice. I suppose the main difference between a Kabal and a local church, a thriving wee city of God, if you will, is very simple. It is life. Tell me, just what are you part of? Tell me, just what are you trying to get into and spending all that effort in the so doing? Tell me, what part of you are you murdering to join a club Kabal?
A word of warning to the missionaries of the Lord. As you are driven by the Spirit of God to go to the ‘regions beyond,’ shame on you if all you do is replicate the present fortresses of incest, yes, shame on you of all you do is simply build yet another closed Kabal.
Remember, the difference between a City and a Kabal is teeming life!
Listen: But “he who glories, let him glory in the Lord.” For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends. (2 Corinthians 10:17-18 NKJV)
Pray: Lord, let Your repeating voice, as bad as nagging conscience, ring in the interminable changes to make me move and find the stirring air of open passes through the monstrous mountains of these closed Kabals. As a I traverse the blasted earth and walk beneath the blasted skies and seek the mile wide mutterings of unimagined rivers and the echo of illimitable plains ready to receive a million planted cities. may all my efforts be paid back tenfold by You my Maker and my God . Let me know Your hand upon me then O God! Yes, let Your whisper come to me to so propel me ever onwards, to the regions which are beyond.
