NW-01027 | Dirt and the Finger of God

Night-Whisper | ACTION

John 8:3-5
Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” NKJV

Politics is a dirty game, just listen a while to Sir Humphrey Appleby! Unfortunately, the one thing I have learned about my fellow Christians is they don’t want to get their hands dirty. Oh, I am not talking about scrubbing a beggar, or hugging a prostitute, though to be sure you have to be careful where you do that, and also make sure you have no money in your pocket whilst you’re doing it! No, I am not talking about getting our hands dirty doing good works, I am talking about getting our reputation dirty, our good name sullied, our position misunderstood, maybe even making a few misinformed enemies, or appearing partisan, whilst being egged with words like ‘racist,’ ‘xenophobe,’ ‘homophobe, ‘Islamaphobe,’ or ‘anti-Semite’ etc. No, we Christians don’t like getting on the ground and putting our fingers in such retributional dirt.

Whilst I thoroughly believe that in this present age we need to truly function as a Kingdom within a State (and I do not mean the British Crown – Her Majesty already has a Crown office in the Houses of Parliament and her Lord Lieutenants throughout the land,) even so, the time has long since passed for we Christians to forcefully and loudly express our views and judgments with boldness and without fear. The truth is, in our self-protecting cowardly silence, we have turned our back on far too many issues which have been dragged before our face, bruised, sullied and bare breasted. I am not referring here to the few organizations we have in the past paid to do our ‘dirty work’ for us, even those representatives who might now have far too many self-perpetuating interests to speak the truth in love, no, I am not referring to them, but to you, the individual Christian inhabited and possessed by God the Holy Spirit who surely has an obligation to engage the mess brought before your face on a daily basis? Surely, even the meanest Christian armed with the Word of God and the Holy Spirit is such a person with an the obligation to pronounce upon the mess? Or do the Scriptures speak a lie?

Look now friend, you do not need an Oxbridge education, nor millions of monies, nor anything else to pronounce the judgment of the Lord upon many matters brought before you. You just need a testimony of forgiveness and the fairness of God’s grace, courage, a willingness to learn and be corrected, and most of all, the willingness to be counted as a fool for Jesus Christ. And do not kid yourself dear friend, it is often that last and foolish requirement which keeps your proud heart away from any dirty controversy. Be honest in this now dear Christian, for look, your nation has been caught in spiritual adultery and is now dragged before your face! Christian, your nation stands before you, its upper body as bare and naked and as nipple hard in sin as the old, cold ‘Paps of Fife’ on a Scottish winters day. I tell you, such a state demands your judgment now! I tell you, if you turn your back on your nation now, in her most naked and direst need, she will indeed be stoned to death and your children will shiver in the grey morning rain whilst standing atop of the dead belly of their road kill and run over, old marsupial mother. Yes, if not for yourself, then for the sake of your children you must begin to get down and get dirty.

It is time for all in the Kingdom of God to get on their knees in the dirt and start sticking their fingers where they are not wanted in the world. And oh my dear reluctant Christian will you please tell me now, just what is your reputation in light of the coming death? What is your ridicule in light of the coming unravelling? What is your hurt, your certainty of being misheard, misunderstood, misjudged and mishandled in light of the church slipping into the Laodicean Abyss whilst once Christian nations slip into the Laurentian Abyss? Are not your reputation and ridicule nothing but two little pigeons ready to be offered upon the sacrificial alter of true service to your earthly home?

So then, let me ask you now, for the cause of Christ and the redemption of our harlot nations, are you willing to get down in the dirt and get dirty with Jesus?

Listen: Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life? …. NKJV (1 Corinthians 6:2,3 NKJV)

Pray: Father, grant us wisdom, fortitude, and the courage to speak the truth and declare Your word, despite being misunderstood, misrepresented and most certainly mistreated in some manner. Help us to know Your word and to fearlessly declare it. Amen and let it be so.
